New Faces, New Places
Hey, hey! Danielle + I have been legit market planning away over here. As we’re gearing up for the year, I thought it might be nice for some official introductions.
So, hi! I’m Kristin Austin (on right) and I started the Makers Market rather by accident in 2014. The intended one time event was such a success it just kind of snowballed, outgrowing a couple of locations along the way. It’s been such an adventure seeing it grow and having the opportunity to collaborate with so many talented locals! When I’m not coordinating events, I’m in my studio making jewelry for my bird + beau collection or helping fellow creatives with their visual branding through my freelance design business, kaus creative.
If you’re a market veteran, you’ve been sure to also meet my husband, Matt. He has always been such a huge supporter behind the scenes, booking musicians, occasionally playing music, moving tables, lugging PAs + signage, laying out maps, directing traffic, and more. He’s an architect by day and a drummer by night, playing with The Antique Hearts around Raleigh. You’ll see more of him this season too — and maybe we can even sneak him into a photo or two soon!
Danielle Milner (pictured on left) is the newest face to our market crew! She’s the lady builder of Elle Woods Co. and she’s one of the most supportive gals I know! A true community over competition champion, Danielle participates in and attends all kinds of events around the Triangle. You’ve likely seen her geometric wood art at area markets and festivals! When she’s not covered in sawdust, or playing with her cute pup, she is rallying with other makers to make this community even greater!
And, as for the new places referenced in this post’s title… shout outs to:
